How the Work Gets Done

The Polk County Republican Party carries out its mission through active, focused subcommittees.

These committees move our work forward year-round — strengthening grassroots engagement, supporting candidates, organizing volunteers, and ensuring our organization operates professionally and effectively.

The County Chair provides overall leadership for the organization, while Directors lead key operational areas through their respective subcommittees. Each Director is responsible for strategic planning, coordination, and execution within their area, working alongside volunteers and Central Committee members to advance Republican values across Polk County.

Community Outreach

Josh Steuterman | Director

The Community Outreach Committee strengthens relationships across Polk County and expands the party’s visibility in the community.

This committee:

Represents the party at parades, festivals, and local events
Connects with civic groups, community leaders, and neighborhood organizations
Expands our presence beyond election season

By strengthening local relationships and visibility, this committee helps ensure Republican voices are engaged, accessible, and active in the broader community.

Elections

Tony Chavez | Director

The Elections Committee supports the organization and execution of successful election efforts.

This committee:

Assists with candidate recruitment and coordination
Organizes neighborhood outreach and voter contact efforts
Helps manage election integrity initiatives and poll watching
Supports Get-Out-the-Vote (GOTV) operations

Through strong organization and preparation, this committee helps ensure Republican candidates are supported and voters are informed and engaged.

Fundraising

Kate Hartkmeyer | Director

The Fundraising Committee secures the resources necessary to support candidates, events, outreach, and organizational growth.

This committee:

Develops and implements fundraising strategies
Builds relationships with donors and community partners
Plans fundraising events and sponsorship opportunities

By strengthening financial resources, this committee ensures the party can effectively communicate, organize, and compete.

Rules

Justin Putney | Director

The Rules Committee helps ensure the party operates fairly, consistently, and in accordance with its governing documents.

This committee:

Reviews and recommends updates to bylaws and organizational rules
Helps interpret procedures when questions arise
Supports transparency and internal consistency

Clear rules and good governance strengthen trust and organizational stability.

Social Media

Riley Konrad | Director

The Social Media Committee manages the party’s digital presence and public messaging.

This committee:

Develops and executes social media strategy
Creates and shares engaging content
Promotes events, initiatives, and Republican candidates
Engages responsibly with the community online

By maintaining a strong digital presence, this committee helps inform voters and expand outreach across Polk County.

Technology

Randy Weisheit | Director

The Technology Committee ensures the party’s systems and tools are efficient, secure, and effective.

This committee:

Maintains website and digital platforms
Supports data systems and internal workflows
Identifies tools that improve communication and organization

Strong infrastructure allows volunteers and leaders to focus on outreach, organization, and winning elections.

Volunteer

Lori Bryant | Director

The Volunteer Committee recruits, coordinates, and supports volunteers across Polk County.

This committee:

Engages new supporters
Helps connect volunteers with meaningful opportunities
Ensures volunteer efforts align with organizational goals
