- To participate in Republican caucuses and primaries, you must be registered as a Republican.
Who Can Register?
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be at least 17 years old (and 18 by Election Day).
- Must be an Iowa resident.
Ways to Register:
The Iowa Secretary of State provides multiple methods to register or update your current registration.
- By mail with a voter registration form.
- In person at the Polk County Auditor’s Office.
- Online by visiting the Iowa Department of Transportation website.
- Same-day registration is available on Election Day with proper ID and proof of residence.

Election Day Voting Hours:
- Polls in Iowa are open from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
Don’t forget to bring:
- An Iowa driver’s license or state ID,
- U.S. passport, military/veteran’s ID, or tribal ID,
- Or a voter ID card provided by your county auditor
