August 30 - First day to submit absentee ballot request forms . To obtain a request form visit Iowa Secretary of State
October 19 - First day absentee ballots mailed. First day to vote in person by absentee at Polk County Elections Office, 120 2nd Ave., Des Moines
October 24 - Last day to submit absentee ballot request to Election Office by 5:00 p.m.
November 5 (Saturday) - Elections Office voting for in person absentee voting
November 8 - All absentee ballots due in Elections Office by 8:00 pm on Election
